Solar Order

The Solar Order rose not from conquest or catastrophe, but from an ideal. In the wake of Isperia’s unification under arcane law, scholars and warpriests sought to embody the principles of justice, protection, and radiant truth. They built their academy around a shard of an ancient celestial being, said to pulse with divine fire. Their founding council was the first to propose the creation of the Arcane Commonwealth itself, advocating for balance among the academies through mutual oversight and shared law.

Though never a sovereign nation, the Order’s influence spread rapidly—training Justiciars and Lightbearers who now serve as arbiters across Isperia’s provinces. Their discipline became the model for legal structure and martial integrity throughout the Commonwealth.

Themes and Ideals

  • Order: Law binds power. The Solar Order reveres law as the backbone of civilization, and their students are expected to uphold it with clarity and conviction.
  • Radiance: Truth, like light, is both illumination and fire. Members are encouraged to confront corruption, lies, and shadow with bold clarity.
  • Protection: Power is not for dominance—it is to shield the innocent. Guardianship is a sacred charge.

“Let those who walk in shadow remember that even the smallest flame casts judgment.”

— High Flamewarden Toria Valen

Structure and Staffing

The Solar Order is a meticulously stratified institution. Students are divided into Circles of Light based on aptitude and discipline: Ember, Beacon, and Radiant. Advancement requires not only magical mastery but also ethical trials. A Tribunal of faculty judges whether a student embodies the Order’s tenets.

Faculty include battle-clerics, lorekeepers, and flamewrights, many of whom served in Commonwealth operations. The High Flamewarden oversees the Order’s internal governance, while emissaries represent it on the Council of the Seven.

Size and Influence

With nearly twelve hundred initiates at any given time, the Solar Order is one of the larger academies. Its alumni serve in courts, battlefields, and political positions across Isperia. Despite its scale, the Order remains rigid in doctrine—some say to a fault.

“There is no light without discipline. Flame without form is destruction.”

— Palewarden Iskiel Dawn

In the Solar Order, light is not simply illumination—it is responsibility, vigilance, and sacrifice. Their fire does not flicker in celebration, but burns eternal as a promise to those who cannot protect themselves.

Common Classes

The Order attracts individuals of conviction—those who pursue light, discipline, and righteous structure. Their ranks often include battle-leaders, healers, and those who shine brightest in service to law, justice, and protection. Drawing from celestial harmony and radiant law, initiates of the Solar Order are expected to shine—though how they channel that brilliance occasionally raises brows in the more traditional academies.

Wizard (Conjuration / Graviturgy Magic / Beacon of Radiance) – Scholars of celestial influence and cosmic manipulation, summoning radiant forces.

Sorcerer (Aberrant Mind / Clockwork Soul) – Those whose magic resonates with the stars, mind, and mechanized balance.

Druid (Circle of Stars / Circle of the Moon) – Nature-bound seers who chart their spells by lunar and stellar alignments.

Warlock (Celestial / Cosmic Entity patrons) – Pact-bearers to radiant powers beyond comprehension.

Kinksmith (Divine Mirror / Chainbound) – Bound by contracts of radiant servitude, often both literal and ornamental.

“Duty is the flame by which the soul is tested. Only those who burn with purpose will endure the light.”

— Exarch Nirellius Sunfold, Solar Order Legate of Judgment
